Problem

How do you convey a physical experience, such as eating delicious food paired perfectly with complementary wine, on a website? New York Vintners isn’t your typical Manhattan wine store—it’s a place to experience wine in a whole new level. New York Vintners wanted a website that conveys the physical experience virtually, as well as enhances the business model with registration and e-commerce functionalities.

Process

From conversations with the client and their staff—all of whom intimately interact with customers daily—I was able to learn about who would be using the site, their needs, and pain points. This research also provided framework to develop content to speak to them in their language, while avoiding jargon to ensure first-timers felt just as comfortable as winos.

Throughout each phase of the designs, I worked closely with the front-end designer to evaluate and enhance the user’s experience through the navigation paths, user interface design, and process. I provided low fidelity wireframes to consolidate and communicate my research into a format for the designer.
